Police in Texas says a 3-year-old girl accidentally shot and killed her 4-year-old sister.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said that the shooting that killed the person happened on March 12 in an apartment complex in Harris County.
Gonzalez said that there were five adults in the house and that the children were left alone. The sheriff said that one parent thought the other was watching the young girls, but the girls went into a bedroom.

No One Knows Yet If Anyone Will Be Charged
The sheriff says that the 3-year-old found a “loaded semiautomatic pistol” and fired one shot by accident. When the gunshot was heard, the 4-year-old was found on the floor, not moving:

Gonzalez said that deputies were called to the house and that the 4-year-old was pronounced dead there.
Gonzalez called the incident a “tragic situation, a very preventable situation.”
The 4-year-old has not been named by the sheriff’s office. No one knows yet if anyone will be charged.
