Ty Pennington of HGTV revealed on Instagram how he went from “the red carpet to the” critical care unit after waking up on Tuesday 11,2023 “barely” breathing, only two days after attending the “Barbie” premiere in Los Angeles.
Pennington, who hosts “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” said in a Facebook post that he is “okay now” and recovering after being intubated in the ICU earlier this week.
The host, who will be on one of eight teams in HGTV’s four-part unique “Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge,” claimed he saw the Greta Gerwig-directed film’s premiere before flying out to film in Breckinridge, Colorado on Monday. Pennington said he woke up at about 4 a.m. on Tuesday 11,2023 and could “barely breathe.”
He wrote-
“Turns out, that sore throat Ive had for the last month was an abscess which had grown so large it was closing off my airway.”
“Next thing I know, I was intubated and flown to the ICU in Denver.”
“A great reminder to LISTEN to your body when it’s telling you something #justhappytobehere.”
