Selena Gomez Advises Fans to Chill: Hailey Bieber Getting Death Threats is Not Ok

Although rumors have been circulating about a possible dispute between Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber, the singer is encouraging her devoted fans to chill down.

After Bieber reportedly darkened (in fans’ eyes) Gomez’s botched eyebrow lamination in February, a scandal henceforth known as EyebrowGate, fans have been invested in the beauty moguls’ social media discussions. Gomez made a shocking announcement on Friday in an effort to end their feud for good.

Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity,” the “Only Murders in the Buildings” and “My Mind and Me.”

“This isn’t what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying,” the 30-year-old added. “I’ve always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop.” on  her stories

There has been tension between Selenators and a subset of Beliebers who support the couple Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber for years. Bieber is 26 years old. Fans’ anger was reignited last month when Rare Beauty’s founder and Rhode Skin’s designer participated in what appeared to be a back-and-forth, with some, including Kylie Jenner of Kylie Cosmetics fame, taking Bieber’s side.

Seems like our even more jumbled makeup cases are the only place where the celebs with chaotic makeup routines may find peace.

After Bieber and Jenner produced a post that some viewers took as a jab at Gomez’s eyebrows, the internet erupted, resulting in a deluge of “EyebrowGate” explanatory videos from mainstream media, fashion, and gossip websites, and regular TikTok users.

While the influencer’s social media following swung wildly during the controversy, BuzzFeed announced, “The End of the Hailey Bieber Icon Age” among Generation Z. Almost a million of Bieber’s fans abandoned her after she was dubbed a “mean girl” and revealed to be the daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin. In early March, the crowd at her husband’s Rolling Loud concert also yelled against her, marking another setback for the once-unstoppable It Girl.

Gomez’s attitude toward the drama has been partly cynical but largely selfless. Her comments on Friday were similar to ones she made earlier this month when she returned from a social media hiatus and told her TikTok fans,

“Please, please be kinder and consider others’ mental health. My heart has been heavy and I only want good for everyone.”

While Bieber has remained silent publicly about the drama, Jenner reportedly rejected feud reports by commenting “this is stretching.”
