Persona 5: The Phantom X, developed by Black Wings and published by Perfect World, will soon be available on iOS and Android. The new Persona 5 spin-off is scheduled to begin playtesting on March 29 in China. It is a free-to-play game featuring in-app purchases.
The Phantom X will look and play just like it did in Persona 5, but the mobile port will feature a streamlined interface and simplified controls. The game is being made under the watchful eye of Atlus.
The new set of Phantom Thieves in Persona 5: The Phantom X is the subject of the game’s narrative, which centers on the concept of “desire.” The protagonist of The Phantom X, like that of Persona 5, can do things like go to the movies and play baseball during the school day. The young Phantoms can explore the Metaverse and its associated Palaces after class.

Lyn’s “Life Will Change” from Persona 5 was recently featured in a new gameplay trailer. The protagonist, designed by Atlus’s Shigenori Soejima, uses a single handgun in combat, while his as-yet-unnamed Persona makes use of two shotguns with hook grooves on the ends.
There are also two women dressed as Phantom Thieves, one armed with a crossbow and the other with a rifle. Unlike Persona 5, where the black cat Morgana served as a mascot, The Phantom X’s animal representative is an owl that fights with a pair of tons.
Even though there is a new attendant in the Velvet Room, there are some familiar faces there, like Igor. The visual style is largely unchanged from the original game, albeit a few additional playable characters have been added.
The Persona 5: Phantom X has yet to receive a confirmed release date. Just the Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection and the still-in-development Project Re: Fantasy has been announced as major new projects from Atlus so far this year.
