The Canadian comedy-drama television series Heartland debuted on CBC on October 14, 2007. The series is based on the Heartland book series by Lauren Brooke.
It follows Amy Fleming and her older sister Louise “Lou” Fleming on their family ranch in Alberta called “Heartland,” where they live with their widowed grandfather Jack Bartlett, their father Tim Fleming, and a hired farmhand named Ty Borden. As the family goes through the ups and downs of country life, they grow closer together.
