A Truck Collides With A Group Of Bikers, Causing 2 Fatalities And 11 Injuries

At least two individuals were killed, and eleven others were injured in a collision between a pickup vehicle and a group of bikers in Arizona, local authorities stated.

The Goodyear Police Department reported that a pickup was travelling along Cotton Lane near Phoenix on Saturday morning when it struck a “large group of adult bicyclists,” killing one immediately and another at the hospital.

The two victims were both cyclists.

“We are sad to update that this is a fatal crash with two confirmed deceased cyclists. One adult female and one adult male. This crash involved a single vehicle (pick-up truck). The adult male driver remained on scene,” police said.

Goodyerar Police Dept shared this news on Twitter, said:

The unnamed pickup truck driver who was involved in the accident, according to Goodyear police, stayed at the site.

Eleven others sustained “different injuries,” according to authorities.

As a result, authorities announced that Cotton Lane would be closed “from the roundabout at Estrella Parkway to MC85” for several hours.

They have not stopped looking into what led up to the accident.

Does That Truck Caught?

Lisa Berry, a spokeswoman with the Goodyear Police Department, said the unnamed pickup truck driver remained at the site. It’s unclear if the motorist was taken into custody or not.

The police have made no more statements regarding the incident. No one knows if the motorist was buzzed or how fast he or she was going.

Not long after, at least four automobiles were involved in another another incident in the Goodyear area.

According to AZFamily’s reporting, three people, including an elderly man, a pregnant woman, and a 7-year-old daughter, were sent to the hospital.
