In addition to his previous superhero and vampire roles on Netflix, Jamie Foxx is now taking on clones.
John Boyega and Teyonah Parris join the Oscar-winner in They Cloned Tyrone to combat a government conspiracy.
The team has the right set of skills for the task at hand. Entering Foxx’s credentials are those of Boyega, who has fought stormtroopers in “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” and aliens in “Attack the Block,” and Parris, who has recently faced off against vengeful ghosts in “Candyman” and sorrowful witches in “The Witches” (WandaVision).
Juel Taylor makes his directorial debut with this cutting-edge conspiracy thriller. More information follows, and above, you can see a still from the movie.
When Will Netflix Finally Upload They Cloned Tyrone?
Netflix announced the worldwide release date of July 21, 2023, for their film They Cloned Tyrone as part of their 2023 film lineup.
The Cloned The movie preview trailer from 2022 included Tyrone as a film that would be released that year.
It was then that Netflix informed us that the film’s release date had been moved to 2023. However, the film wasn’t released until January 2023.

On September 24, 2022, at Netflix’s TUDUM event, the first trailer was made available to the public. A scene in an elevator with Boyega, Teyonah Parris, and Jamie Foxx is shown right at the beginning. Parris and Foxx’s characters had a funny moment when they start singing Mary J. Blige’s “I’m Goin’ Down,” even though they are both armed to the teeth.

As the story progresses, we see the trio break into a research lab, but this is the tip of the iceberg regarding the massive conspiracy threatening a Black community through experiments, kidnappings, and surveillance. Though the film’s central mystery is somewhat severe, the chemistry between the three leads should provide enough comedic relief.
The Plot Of They Cloned Tyrone
Netflix’s official summary reads, “A series of spooky incidents thrusts an unlikelihood trio onto the trail of a diabolical government plot in this pulpy mystery caper.” Still, we’re not convinced by just those two sentences. Fontaine (John Boyega) sees something unusual: someone taking a captive who looks exactly like him.
Fontaine soon begins working with Yo-yo (Teyonah Parris), a hip and trendy young woman, and Slick Charles, a hip and stylish older man (Jamie Foxx).
The three of them will become entangled in a web of conspiracies where all of the evidence leads in one direction: the American government is conducting cruel experiments on Black communities—cinematic science fiction, how I love thee. We can assume that no government would ever act in such a way.
In They Cloned Tyrone, our intrepid trio travels to the center of a whirlwind to solve a persistent nightmare.
All the People Who Made “They Cloned Tyrone”
A role as Fontaine has been cast for John Boyega. It was a shame that the role of Finn in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, in which he excelled, did not provide him a chance to display his full range. Boyega capitalized on his Star Wars fame by appearing in a wide range of films, most recently as the king in The Woman King and delivering a stunning performance in the thriller Breaking.
Another actor who has worked with Disney is Teyonah Parris, who appears next to him. After appearing in WandaVision, she will reprise her role as Monica Rambeau on The Marvels.
Jamie Foxx rounds out the primary cast as Slick Charles. This actor has won numerous awards, including an Oscar for portraying Ray Charles in the biopic Ray, released in 2004. The actor has a history of working with the streaming service and is no stranger to lighthearted action comedies.
Also, he and Snoop Dog played lead roles in the Netflix vampire comedy Day Shift. Keith Sutherland (24, Melancholia) is also part of the cast. However, his specific position is currently unknown.
Jason Burkey (Ordinary Joe), Nick Arapoglou (Smile), Saif Mohsen (The Resident), James Mosses Black (You People), Tamberia Perry (The Tam and Kevin Show, All American: Homecoming), Austin Freeman (The Mule), and Micheal A. Dean (The Menu, The Trial of the Chicago 7) round out the cast.
The film’s screenplay and direction are both by Juel Taylor. Before Space Jam: A New Legacy, he worked on Creed II and Date Night. In addition to his technological expertise, Tony Rettenmaier contributed to the writing of They Cloned Tyrone. His previous credits include Space Jam: A New Legacy, Drone, and others.
