On Monday (10 April), the body of Jung Chae-yul, a South Korean actress and model, was found at her residence where she had been living. Deep, a thriller, and Zombie Detective, a Netflix series, both featured the 26-year-old actress in guest starring roles. Her death was first announced by a foreign publication with its headquarters in South Korea called Koreaboo. However, not many specifics have been made public regarding her passing.
According to Wionews, her place of employment, Management S, issued a statement confirming the news of her passing shortly after it was reported. In addition, Jung’s management has requested that her devoted followers desist from speculating about her demise until all of the pertinent information has been disclosed.
“Today, we are relaying sorrowful and heartbreaking news. Actress Jung Chae-Yul left our side on April 11, 2023. In accordance with the wishes of the bereaved family who must have been in greater sadness than anyone else, the funeral will be held quietly in private”.
“Please wish for Jung Chae Yull, who had always been earnest in her pursuit of acting, to rest in peace in a warm place. We earnestly request that you refrain from writing speculative articles or spreading rumours,” they added.

Jung Chae-yul’s birthday is September 4, 1996, making her 26 years old when she passed away. Through her work in the entertainment industry, Jung became well-known. She kept busy in South Korea’s entertainment industry, where Esteem Entertainment eventually became her representative.
She debuted on the Korean show Devil’s Runway in 2016, where she continued her modeling career. Her major break came in 2020 with the Netflix miniseries Zombie Detective, although this show was helpful. She played Bae Yoon-mi from the show’s premiere on September 21, 2020, to its finale on October 27, 2020.
Zombie Detective took home the trophy for Best Challenge at this year’s KBS Entertainment Awards. Kwon Hwa-woon, Choi Jin-hyuk, and Park Ju-hyun also starred in the show’s main roles. Prior to this show, you may have seen Jung in the 2018 film Deep.
She had also been working on the K-drama Wedding Impossible, which was reportedly filmed at the time of her death (News18). The production was halted after the filmmakers received the awful news of Jung’s death and attempted to assess it.
“We express our deep condolences. Future filming schedule is under internal discussion,” a representative from the production team said.
On April 11 (Korea Standard Time), her body was found in her house, although the circumstances surrounding her death are still a mystery. Jung was an Instagram powerhouse, amassing nearly 25,000 followers. As she traversed the world, her photographs captured her in a wide range of poses.
