A Transition Toward Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 “new era”

Several advertisements use the phrase “new age” to describe the game’s setting. Back in June, Activision and Infinity Ward gave us a first peek at Modern Warfare 2, during which they detailed the game’s “state-of-the-art” linked gameplay, which was built on a single unified engine. Future Call of Duty games developed by Treyarch, Sledgehammer Games, and other partner developers will all use this reworked engine. For more on the new unified engine and what it means for future Call of Duty games, check out our comprehensive preview of Modern Warfare 2. Further read Modern Warfare 2 on task force 141.

Modern Warfare 2 On Task Force 141

Much of the plot of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019 centered on Captain Price’s efforts to reassemble his legendary task force from the first game. Fans may be assured that their favorite Modern Warfare characters will appear in Captain Price’s next story, despite the fact that this comes as little surprise.

Three years have passed since the events of the 2019 reboot of Modern Warfare, and Captain Price’s legendary Task Force 141 is now active all over the world, which is the setting for Modern Warfare 2. Price is joined in the newly formed Task Force 141 by familiar faces including Simon “Ghost” Riley, Kyle “Gaz” Garrick, and John “Soap” MacTavish, as well as an unknown individual named Alejandro Vargas. Although both Gaz and Ghost were members of Task Force 141, they were never in the same game together throughout the original trilogy. Gaz only appeared in the first game, while Ghost made an appearance in the 2009 sequel (both were also voiced by the same person).

The complete reveal trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 showcases a montage of campaign set pieces set to a remix of Metallica’s “Wherever I May Roam,” giving fans their first look at the newly created Task Force 141 in action. The nighttime mission Dark Water from Modern Warfare 2, in which Task Force 141 must intercept the enemy’s missile launch controllers, was included in a separate trailer that was released after the game’s initial release. Multiplayer Gets New Features And Ground War Returns In Modern Warfare 2

The Call of Duty event revealed Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer mode. Team Deathmatch, Dominance, and Search and Destroy are the next confirmed classic modes. Two new round-based objective modes, Prisoner Rescue and Knockout will join the returning popular large-scale Ground War mode from 2019’s Modern Warfare.

Read our initial thoughts on the multiplayer beta for Modern Warfare 2 and get a taste of the game’s new features, such as Prisoner Rescue and Knockout, which were released over the first weekend. The test also gave participants a taste of the third-person mode coming to Modern Warfare 2, which will have its own set of multiplayer maps and activities.

While several of the primary multiplayer maps in 2019’s Modern Warfare were relatively huge at launch, Infinity Ward has stated that it has reduced the size of all of the main multiplayer maps in Modern Warfare 2 to accommodate typical 6v6 battles. As an added bonus, the developer has stated that Ground War maps are distinct “war maps” designed from the ground up exclusively for large-scale modes, rather than larger chunks of regular multiplayer settings.

The recently revealed Invasion mode for Modern Warfare 2 is included in Ground War. The invasion mode has “more troops than any prior Ground War experience,” thanks to both friendly and hostile AI.
