“The Rookie” will return for a sixth season, with the show set to reach the 100-episode mark, ABC confirmed. In the procedural, John Nolan (Nathan Fillion), the oldest rookie in the LAPD, tries to keep up with rookies 20 years younger than him by using his life experience, drive, and sense of humor.
Nolan is almost done with his training, and now he has to face his biggest task as a police officer: he has to accept the choices he has made in his search for the truth. In addition to Fillion, the group includes Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Melissa O’Neil, Eric Winter, and Jenna Dewan.
Did you know that Ginny & Georgia, along with other Netflix favorites like Virgin River and Firefly Lane, is our go-to for unwinding at home? We can’t wait for the second season to come out on the streaming service in January, and we want to know if there will be a third season:
In the next episode, which airs on April 18, Officer Tim Bradford’s (Winter) ex-wife Isabel comes back and asks the team to help her save someone from her spy days. Her return also puts more strain on the relationship between Lucy (O’Neil) and Tim as they help her look. The last episode of Season 5 of “The Rookie” will air on Tuesday, May 2.
This season, “The Rookie” is the No. 1 show for adults 18–49 on ABC’s new Tuesday night at 8 p.m. block of television. Since the change in January, the show has gained 40% more viewers overall and 17% more viewers in the key 18-49 age group compared to the same weeks in the previous season.
Also, the drama is up almost six times from its initial Live+Same Day rating in Adults 18-49, with a lift of 426% after 35 days of delayed multiplatform watching. This means that the current season is better than the last one by 6% in Total Viewers and by 9% in Adults 18-49. Entertainment One (eOne), which makes the show with ABC Signature, is the main studio and foreign distributor of “The Rookie.”
