After what feels like an eternity for Marvel fans, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set to hit theatres in May, and we now have our first look at the film’s trailer.
Marvel released a trailer for Vol. 3 shortly after the premiere of the Holiday Special in late November 2022. In addition to our introduction to Adam Warlock, the film also hinted at a moving conclusion to the trilogy.
In the Holiday Special, we learned that the gang had expanded since we last saw them, moving into Knowhere (which they purchased from the Collector), acquiring a new spacecraft named the Bowie, and befriending a lovable telekinetic dog named Cosmo.
However, what else can we anticipate from the third installment? Everything you need to know about the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie is here.
Guardians Of The Galaxy 3 Release Date
May 5, 2023, is when you can see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. A few months after the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, this film will be the second full-length installment in the MCU’s Phase 5. Not only has it been hyped as the most emotional and dramatic of the entire franchise.
But it has also been so long since Star-Lord and his friends have taken center stage in a full-length movie that it is one of the most anticipated superhero projects of 2023. When Gunn returned to the MCU after a lengthy absence due to personal disagreements, the Guardians were in capable hands (via Deadline).
A release date has not been set. However, Gunn has said that Volume 3 will be “a lengthier movie than the other two movies” (via THR). Despite the long wait between the first and second Guardians films, the filmmaker is confident that the third installment will be worth the audience’s time and money.
Stars Of “Guardians of the Galaxy 3”
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will feature a large portion of the original ensemble and some recruits to keep things interesting. We also got our first look at another superhero, Would Poulter’s Adam Warlock, who, according to Gunn, will provide “an interesting juxtaposition with where we’ve gone thus far” when he crosses paths with the Guardians (via EW).
Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Nebula (Karen Gillan), Groot (Vin Diesel), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Drax (Dave Bautista), Mantis (Pom Klemetieff), Kraglin (Sean Gunn), and Stakar Ogord (Sylvester Stallon) will all be back.
Poulter’s Warlock has been billed as the film’s primary adversary, but his comic book history suggests that his true motivations may be more nuanced. Probably a lot more of the character’s story hasn’t been told yet. Maria Bakalova, known for her role as Borat in Borat 2, will join the Guardians of the Galaxy as Cosmo, the security chief of the planet Knowhere.
It’s safe to assume she’ll bring the role’s much-needed enthusiasm, as she has called Gunn’s first picture “the movie that got me to get enthusiastic about the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
The Story Of Guardians Of The Galaxy 3
The official Marvel synopsis for James Gunn’s next adventure reads: “Our beloved band of misfits is settling into life on Knowhere, but it isn’t long until their lives are upended by the ghosts of Rocket’s violent past.
Peter Quill, still grieving over Gamora’s death, must lead the Guardians on a dangerous quest to save Rocket’s life, a mission that, if unsuccessful, could spell the end of the team as we know it.
To save the world, Gamora, from the year 2014, journeyed to the current day and betrayed 2014-Thanos. This all takes place in Avengers: Endgame. However, it is understandable that information about her relationship with Star-Lord has been lost forever.
This final movie may be our last chance to see the Guardians together.
As far as we know, this is the final time the Guardians of the Galaxy will ever gather. For Screen Rant, Zoe Saldana elaborated, “It’s bitter because we’re all so glad to have walked this trip together.
She continued, saying, “James Gunn is giving us a wonderful finish, and this story is incredibly gripping. It’s shaping up to be the best one so far, in my opinion.
Trailer For Guardians Of The Galaxy 3
On December 1st, 2022, the first teaser trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was published. This won’t give anything away, but there are a few significant discoveries that make it seem like this edition will be more dramatic and emotional than the other two.
It revealed for the first time that Nebula and a clone of Gamora would be joining the squad permanently. The clip also suggests that Rocket will have a significantly larger part in this film than he has in prior installments.
The teaser for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has caused a lot of emotional distress among the audience due to its darker tone and the fears it has inspired for the safety of their favorite characters, especially Rocket. It’s unknown whether or not he’ll survive this final expedition, but his fiery phrase about flying away “into the long and glorious sky” raises many issues.
Gunn is making sure fans are ready for the last installment of the trilogy they’ve grown to adore, but Marvel Cinematic Universe teasers have been known to mislead. If previous entries are any indication, there will be several plot points that are being kept under wraps.
