While the 2018 God of War was only recently made available for PC players, the sequel, God of War Ragnarök, was published on PS4 and PS5 to universal acclaim.
Players on PC will likely be hoping for Ragnarök given the cliffhanger ending of the 2018 remake, and there’s a decent possibility they’ll get it. Sony has surprised gamers by porting over a number of PS4 hits to PC in recent years, including Days Gone, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Uncharted, and both Spider-Man games. Ragnarök will likely look even better on PC after the port thanks to improvements like enhanced visuals, DLSS implementation, and more customization options. We have not yet received an official release date for God of War: Ragnarök on PC, but here is when we anticipate it will be available.
God of War Ragnarok Release Date Pc
The short version is that we have no idea when God of War Ragnarok will be available for PC. Sony, however, has promised that its first-party PS5 single-player games won’t arrive until at least a year after the console’s original sale. This leads us to believe that the PC version of God of War: Ragnarok will be released sometime between November 2023 and December 2024.
It’s possible that Sony’s decision for Ragnarok may change and that their schedule will shift. It is unlikely that God of War Ragnarok won’t be released for PC by April 2024, given the company’s impressive output of PC titles.
When Will Ps4 Owners Be Able To Play God of War Ragnarok?
A PS5 release of the God of War sequel is in the works, while a PS4 version is also in the works. Information of a PS2 version leaked out in a Q&A with PlayStation Studios boss Hermen Hulst, posted on the studio’s official site. Sony announced the PS5 and PS4 versions of Ragnarok at the September PlayStation Showcase, while any differences between the versions are still unknown. If you already own God of War Ragnarok on PS4 (either digitally or on disc), you can pay an extra $10 to upgrade to the PS5 digital version.
Can We Expect A Pc Version?
Considering Sony’s history of gradually porting some of its largest PlayStation games to PC and the fact that 2018’s God of War is now accessible on PC, a PC version of God of War: Ragnarok seems highly possible. Sony has announced that by 2025, half of all PlayStation titles would also be available on PC and mobile devices, after the acquisition of PC port specialist Nixxes Software.
Even while Sony hasn’t officially announced a PC version of Ragnarok, the company has enormous intentions for the PC market and is actively expanding into the sector. Since it took God of War 2018 nearly three years to appear on PC, it’s probable that it will be a while before Ragnarok makes its way to the platform. It was confirmed in the September trailer for Ragnarok that it takes set “a few years” after the events of God of War (2018). Sony stated in a blog post that “the frigid winds of Fimbulwinter have come to Midgard,” thereby making it more difficult for Kratos, Atreus, and Mimir to survive in the Norse wilds.
Atreus’ Giant background and the hidden prophecy only Kratos saw added a new layer of difficulty to the already complicated relationship between father and son, but that was established in the previous game.
According to Sony, Atreus is “desperately interested” in Ragnarok. “Like many other young people, he is eager to learn more about his own identity. In this situation, he is curious about his potential identity. Atreus is fixated on solving the riddle of Loki’s role in the impending clash. Atreus wishes to protect his loved ones, but he also can’t bear to watch as war erupts over the Nine Realms.”
Sony claims that Kratos wants to help protect Atreus from the “bloody lessons he learned through his war with gods.”
A sentence from the game’s description states, “He wants to keep his kid safe, above all, and their meeting with Baldur has vindicated the idea that only tragedy will come from future entanglements with the Aesir.” “Kratos and Atreus, as a team, will have to decide which way to go. As Ragnarök draws near, their decision will determine the fate of everyone in the Nine Realms.”

God of War: Ragnarök has a lengthy 20-plus hour tale. That’s how long it should take if you give it your whole attention and rush through the story without stopping to enjoy Kratos’ latest journey.
