Is the shocking ending of Fast X still making your car explode? The good news is that we also have some bad news. The good news is that we know when these loose ends will be tied. Worse yet? About two years from now, we expect to reach that conclusion.
Vin Diesel announced the release date of Fast 11 (or Fast X: Part Two, if you prefer) on Instagram this week. The date is April 4, 2025. For this, the (perhaps) final instalment, filmmaker Louis Leterrier returns.
Wrote the lead star and producer of the long-running Universal franchise-
“I love how expressive and collaborative all of the actors in our franchise feel coming into the world’s saga. Jason [Momoa] wanted to try something unique and special and created a scene-stealing character that the world won’t forget. Thank you all for showing up like you always do.”
“Seven billion [at the box office] means nothing if it doesn’t represent the true feeling of family and loyalty. For those who didn’t know, Fast X was just Part One. Know that Part Two is going to be an effort from our fast family and studio like you have never seen.”
Diesel also appeared to reveal what was likely AI-generated concept art that could provide a clue to the upcoming chapter’s plot. Despite his silence, we might speculate that the Antarctic rendezvous between Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) and Cipher (Charlize Theron) and Gisele (Gal Gadot) shortly before the end credits of Fast X is connected to the icy scene seen in both photographs.
Vin Diesel Reveals Fast 11 release date
Dwayne Johnson’s comeback as fan favourite Luke Hobbs (the character made an unexpected appearance in a mid-credits stinger) was announced last week via a spin-off project to fill the gap between the first and second films.
Although the film’s director and premiere date remains unknown, we may expect them to be announced within the next year and a half at the very latest. Since the film premiere in Rome last month, Diesel has been hinting at a Fast X trilogy, with this Hobbs-centric trip perhaps being the second instalment.
