Blue Protocol Beta: Amazon Games announced a new publishing deal with Bandai Namco Online Inc. on Thursday, December 8th, at The Game Awards, for the release of Blue Protocol in North America, Europe, South America, Australia, and New Zealand. Blue Protocol is a multiplayer online action role-playing game with beautiful, anime-inspired art. Free-to-play Blue Protocol will debut in the second half of 2023 on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, following a Closed Beta on PC in the spring.
“Blue Protocol is a beautifully crafted game; it’s like an anime come to life,” said Christoph Hartmann, vice president of Amazon Games. Bandai Namco Online has made a high-quality world with a fascinating plot that will bring people together and drag them into an exciting adventure. Blue Protocol will be available to Western players sometime next year, and we couldn’t be more excited about the continued rise in popularity of anime around the world.
Bandai Namco Online Inc. and Bandai Namco Studios’ Blue Protocol is an action RPG that sends players on a heroic quest through Regnas, a world on the verge of oblivion due to millennia of war and technological overuse. As a team, players must work together to defeat formidable foes by channeling Flux, a mysterious light.
At launch, players can create a character from scratch or select one of five premade classes: the stalwart Blade Warden, the courageous Twin Striker, the adaptable Keen Strider, the powerful Spell Weaver, or the devastating Foe Breaker. The players will be able to recover their past and fight for the survival of the world with the help of Echoes, magical creatures they can summon for powerful attacks.
What is Blue Protocol Beta?
Bandai Namco and Amazon Games are collaborating on a new massively multiplayer online role-playing game called Blue Protocol. With the success of Lost Ark and New World, Amazon Games has made a habit of publishing well-received Western MMOs.
Our chat with Mike Zadorojny revealed that Blue Protocol’s three main selling points are its “seamless” open world (where players don’t have to form parties for individual instances), its robust character and avatar creation system, and its rich, mechanically-dense combat.
How Much Does Blue Protocol Cost to Play?
The Blue Protocol is a free-to-play game that features in-app purchases. Since the class system isn’t like Genshin Impact’s (there aren’t any predefined characters, instead the player creates their own avatar), we expect the cosmetics to be purely cosmetic and not pay-to-win or gacha. This comes after Amazon Games made an effort to “Westernize” the microtransactions in Lost Ark and remove pay-to-win elements from New World.
What We Know About Microtransactions in Blue Protocol Thus Far is as Follows:
This game uses a freemium business model.
A Season Pass is available.
The Regnas Shop is a real place (a premium store)
Rose Orbs are the premium currency that can be used to buy a variety of items in the game’s premium shop.

Amazon’s Blue Protocol Video Games
The executive producer of Blue Protocol at Bandai Namco Online Inc., Sokichi Shimooka, praised Amazon for its “exemplary” dedication to quality and detail in bringing Blue Protocol to new audiences. The Amazon Games team’s extensive experience running multiplayer games, in addition to Amazon’s publishing capabilities and transmedia possibilities, made them the company best suited to publish Blue Protocol in the West. We can’t wait to join forces to provide players with an unforgettable adventure.
Like its predecessors Lost Ark and New World, Blue Protocol will be a premium live service game published by Amazon Games. This partnership builds on recently announced publishing deals with top international studios like Smilegate RPG, Glowmade, and Disruptive Games.
