In June 1985, Regis Philbin took over “The Morning Show” on WABC-TV from Ann Abernathy. She was well-known by 1988, when “Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee” was renamed. Their chemistry ensured quick success. She departed the show in July 2000 to pursue music.
