Where Is Carl Lentz Now
Carl led the New York City Hillsong congregation after joining the church in 2010 and evangelized the faith to thousands, including pop stars like Justin Bieber and Vanessa Hudgens. Carl was let go ten years after attracting a lot of attention to the church due to undisclosed “leadership flaws and breaches of trust” and “moral shortcomings.”
Believers exposed Carl’s extramarital escapades. His affair with Ranin Karim, which lasted for five months, will be a major talking point at Hillsong: The Megachurch Exposed.
On top of that, Carl’s ex-nanny Leona Kimes went public with allegations of sexual harassment and assault against her employer in a Medium blog she posted in May 2021.
After a month, Leona told Religion News Service that her comment was indeed directed toward Carl.
The New York Post reports that Carl is now living in Florida.
Carl used his final Instagram post to provide an update, writing, “It been a tough path but we are alive, we are at peace, and thanks to the mercy of God we are TOGETHER. I have no idea what the future holds for us, but I am so grateful that we get to face it together as a family.
Before Carl And Justin Met
In 2008, when Bieber was only 14 years old, Lentz met him through a mutual pastor. Backstage, I can still recall praying with him before the service and thinking, “This is going to be a problem.” Lentz told the New York Post in 2014, “I remember thinking that day, ‘I’m going to pray for this boy to make it.'” At the time, Bieber was getting a lot of negative attention for a variety of reasons, including being caught exiting a Brazilian brothel and allegedly smoking so much marijuana on a private plane that the pilots had to wear gas masks.

Together, Lentz and his wife Laura head the Hillsong congregation in New York City. They have been giving sermons at the Wellmont Theater in Montclair since 2013. Lentz is a native of Virginia Beach who was raised in the Baptist church and was playing basketball for N.C. State University when his parents encouraged him to attend a church service with a contemporary music ministry, prompting him to adopt nicknames such as “rock star pastor,” “hipster pastor,” and “punk pastor” due to his penchant for leather, skinny jeans, and tattoos.
He told the Virginian-Pilot that it was this experience that led him back to God, and after attending Virginia Wesleyan University and a Bible college in Los Angeles (where he also worked as a greeter for Gucci), he went on to study at the Hillsong International Leadership College in Australia, where he met and married Laura in 2003. (There are now three youngsters in the family.) The couple eventually settled back in Virginia Beach, where he led a youth ministry and began recruiting young, trendy people at music events, nightclubs, and bars to attend his services, which he modeled after rock concerts.
Lentz relocated to New York City with his family in 2010, settling in Williamsburg and becoming regular at Knicks games. According to his profile on Bleacher Report, Allan Houston is close with numerous NBA players, including Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, Jeremy Lin, and others because of an introduction from a local pastor.

Carl Lentz Wife Name Is… Who Is She?
Carl began his career as a preacher at Hillsong College before rising to prominence as one of the church’s most prominent leaders. Carl, then 20, left his home in Virginia Beach, Virginia, for Australia in order to participate in a church training program there. This is where he met his future wife, Laura Lentz (then Brett).
Laura, who is from Australia, and Carl both attended Hillsong. After two years together, Laura left her life in Australia for her partner. The two eventually tied the knot in 2003, and Laura eventually settled in the United States. While they were married, they had three children: Ava, Charlie, and Roman.
Laura and Carl entered the ministry industry after completing their training at Hillsong Church. In the current decade, Laura helped her husband lead Hillsong as a co-pastor. Their careers were cut short due to Carl’s false accusations of infidelity.
Since Carl was fired from Hillsong, Laura had to find a new pastorate, according to The Sun. According to an anonymous source quoted by the media site, “if a married couple both work at the church and one of them is terminated, both of them will be sacked instantly.” The pastor claimed to be suffering from “post-traumatic stress disorder” because of the circumstances, even though it was unclear whether or not Laura had departed of her own free will. People report that in 2020, paparazzi photographs showed her without her wedding band.
