We regret to inform you that on October 3, 2023, Shalom Peters, a resident of Morton Grove, passed away in Park Ridge. The town was shocked to learn of his passing.
Shalom Peters Obituary
According to the news, “Shalom Peters,” 37, perished in an automobile accident in Park Ridge. Shalom Peters was driving an eastbound 2017 Mercedes SUV when, in the 1000 block of Oakton Street, he veered into the westbound lanes at 2:35 in the morning.

His car allegedly crossed the center line on Oakton while speeding, striking two power lines. He died there and then. The North Regional Major Crimes Task Force (NORTAF) Major Crash Assistance Team and the Park Ridge police both responded to the accident scene when it was first reported at 2:38 a.m.
The length of the road’s closure was becoming more and more obvious as the investigation continued. The fact that a nearby power pole was sagging and manifested clear symptoms of significant damage demonstrated the seriousness of the catastrophe. A sizable contingent of ComEd personnel arrived at the location to assess the situation and determine how to resolve it.

He was born on October 8, 1985, in the Queens Borough of New York City. Saloman and Mercy, née Singh, were his parents. He died when he was 37 years old. The plans for his funeral have not yet been officially confirmed.
Shalom Peters Car Accident
Police in Park Ridge, Illinois, said in a news release that they are investigating a fatal crash that took place on Oakton Street early on Tuesday. The only occupant of the single car that was involved in the incident was 37-year-old Morton Grove resident Shalom Peters.
At at 2:38 in the morning, a collision occurred on the 1000 block of Oakton, between Cumberland and Greenwood. The involved car, a 2017 black Mercedes SUV, reportedly jumped over into the westbound lanes while traveling eastbound in the 1000 block of Oakton Street at a high rate of speed and struck two utility poles on the north side of the road. Peters was pronounced dead at the spot.
