A few days after attending the Golden Globes, where she appeared unsteady and walked while hanging onto a friend, Lisa passed away from cardiac arrest. She was found unresponsive by her staff at her California home close to Calabasas. Danny Keough, her ex-husband, arrived at the scene after dropping the kids off at school and attempted CPR to revive her.

At 10:37 AM, the paramedics arrived on the scene. The 54-year-old singer was taken to West Hills Hospital, according to L.A. County Fire Department Capt. Sheila Kelliher. She was in the ICU under an artificial coma. Subsequently, the cause of Lisa’s death was listed as “undetermined” by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner.

Lisa first experienced back pain in 2012. She postponed several tours as a result of it. After receiving an opiate prescription from her doctor for the pain, she also battled drug addiction. And her family has a history of heart problems. Both Elvis Presley and his father passed away from heart attacks. Shelby County Coroner Dr. Jerry Francisco stated that “preliminary postmortem findings” disqualified “cardiac arrhythmia” as the cause of death for the King of Rock and Roll.

Priscilla, Lisa’s mother, was the first to inform others of Lisa’s passing. She stated, “It is with a heavy heart that I must deliver the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us. “I have never met a lady who was as passionate, strong and loving as she was. We request discretion as we work to process this tragic loss. Thank you for your prayers and love.”

Sarah spoke at Lisa’s memorial service in Graceland, Elvis Presley’s house that will now be passed down to Lisa’s children, a week after Lisa died away, to “honour the extraordinary Lisa Marie,” together with her many loved ones.

“I stand here with great honor because we called each other ‘sissy,’ and I’ve been with you all for all your lives really. Sissy this is for you with affection,” said the Duchess of York before quoting the late Queen Elizabeth II.

“My late mother-in-law used to say that nothing [that] can be said can begin to take away the anguish and the pain of these moments, because grief is the price we pay for love,” she said. “And how right she was.”

Sarah also offered her support to the kids of Priscilla and Lisa during this trying time. About Lisa’s son Benjamin, who passed away in 2020, she remarked, “We look at Priscilla as a mother to Lisa Marie, and we look at Lisa Marie and say, ‘You lost a son. “There are no words to describe mothers losing their children. We therefore discuss action today. The only way we can advance and start the fire is via action.”

She went on: “We therefore advance in your support for Riley, Harper, Finley, and the entire family. We are all behind you. We will be there if you only extend your hand. Without a doubt, I’ll be there.”
