How Did Cooper Noriega Die: Originally from Laguna Beach, Noriega relocated to the fashion and entertainment capital of the world, Los Angeles.
In 2019, he started posting comedic videos (lip sync battles, skits, and more) to TikTok and quickly gained a large following. He also started a modeling career and a YouTube channel afterward.
The TikTok star has 1.7 million fans, and Noriega has 430,000 Instagram followers.
There was a video of him lying in bed with the caption, “Who else b thinking they gon die young [expletive]?” posted just hours before he passed away.
Noriega was a strong supporter of mental health, and he had just opened a Discord server where his fans could talk freely about their own struggles with the topic.
In an Instagram post, he said, “I’ve been struggling with addiction since I was 9 years old, you may think that’s crazy but that’s the life I’ve been dealt.” I hope to use the platform I’ve been given to encourage open discussion about mental health problems and encourage others to do the same.
How Did Cooper Noriega Die?
The autopsy results for Cooper Noriega have finally been analyzed, and the cause of death has been determined.
Less than three weeks before his 20th birthday, on June 9, his body was discovered in a parking lot in Burbank, California.
Anxiety medications lorazepam and Xanax, or alprazolam, were found in Noriega’s system, and the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner has concluded that these drugs contributed to Noriega’s death. Recent use of the anxiety medication clonazepam was also cited by the coroner as a significant factor in his untimely passing.
The coroner determined that Noriega’s death was accidental and located the scene of his death to be a parking lot.
Noriega posted a video on TikTok, where he has over 3 million followers, with the caption, “Who else b thinking they gon die young if?” just before he passed away.
Noriega invited his social media followers to a Discord server he was setting up for the purpose of talking about mental health four days earlier.
In a TikTok video, he invited anyone interested in “getting your emotions out, or whatever,” to join. In light of my affection for you all and my own difficulties in this area, I built.
In a separate Instagram post, he elaborated: “I would like to use the influence I’ve been given to create a space built on spreading awareness and normalizing talking about mental illness.” Addiction has taught me many things, and one of them is that being around negative people is a surefire way to feel worse about yourself.
Noriega’s father, Harold Noriega, finally spoke out about his son’s death a short time after it happened, posting a heartfelt Facebook update.
“Today has been a very trying day for me and my loved ones. Yesterday evening, we said goodbye to our beautiful 19-year-old Cooper “next to a photo of his deceased son, he penned some heartfelt words.
What Has His Family Said?
After Noriega passed away on Sunday (12 June), his sister made a post to his Instagram account.
“Hello, all,” she greeted her readers. We’d like to extend our gratitude to everyone who has spoken so kindly about our home. His death is a devastating blow to all of us. We hope that as a group, we will be able to carry on his work. In his heart, you were all special to him. Feel free to get in touch with us, we enjoy hearing from our loyal fans. His sister sends her best wishes to you all.

Noriega frequently discussed his mental health and substance abuse issues in an open forum online.
Noriega posted on Instagram in the days before his death that he had started a Discord server for people to talk about their mental health.
He wrote, “You might think that’s crazy, but that’s the life I’ve been dealt. I’ve been struggling with addiction since I was nine years old.”
I’d like to use my platform to encourage open discussion about mental health and break down stigmas associated with it. One day, I hope to start a rehab where patients leave feeling whole and safe, and where the staff members are respected members of the community.
While battling my addiction, I learned a lot of things, and one of them was that being around negative people is a surefire way to drag you down.
Therefore, this disharmony is intended to unite us and provide a sanctuary where people can share their struggles and offer support to one another.
Noriega tweeted about an “overdose/suicide attempt” he had in January 2021, which ultimately led to his sobriety.
His note read, “90 days sober!! It’s been challenging, but also incredibly beautiful. It’s crazy to think that just four months ago I was at rock bottom, having overdosed and nearly died on fent before someone rescued me.
