The English singer, songwriter, producer, and humanitarian George Michael has passed away. In the 1980s, he rose to fame as half of the successful duet Wham!, whose songs included “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go,” “Last Christmas,” and “Careless Whisper.”

George Michael’s boyfriend, Fadi Fawaz, discovered his body on Christmas Day, 2016, at their house in Oxfordshire.
The famous stylist said, “We were supposed to be going for Christmas lunch. As I walked over to wake him up, he was sound asleep.
No one knows what occurred yet. There had been a lot of stress in the last few weeks, but George and I were both looking forward to Christmas.
On March 7, 2017, the senior coroner for Oxfordshire, Darren Salter, confirmed the cause of death.
George passed away from dilated cardiomyopathy, myocarditis, and fatty liver due to natural causes.
What Did Fadi Fawaz Say When He Called 999 To Report Finding George Michael?
Fawaz spent nearly an hour trying to rouse the singer before calling for an ambulance, according to a dramatic 999 call he made after discovering Michael’s dead.
Fadi is heard explaining: “I’ve been trying to wake him up for the last hour but it was not possible.
“He’s gone. He’s blue. He’s gone.”
The handler then asks where George’s body is and Fadi replies: “He’s in bed. Dead.
“He’s cold and he’s blue… yes, he’s very stiff.
“He’s dead… he’s dead.”
Asked by the operator if the singer is “beyond help”, Fadi reveals he has spent an hour trying to revive him.
The operator goes on to ask if George’s death was “expected”.
Fadi replies: “No, no, no, no, no, no, I’ve been waiting for him to wake him up for like, you know, for hours and he wouldn’t wake up, I went to wake him up and he was gone, you know, he’s not there.”

George Michael was found to have died from dilated cardiomyopathy, a condition that affects the heart muscle and makes it difficult for the heart to pump blood.
Did George Michael Have a Substance Abuse Issue?
For many years before his untimely death, George Michael battled substance misuse, which resulted in repeated arrests and other legal troubles.
In a podcast interview for BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs in September 2007, Michael said that marijuana or cannabis was his primary addiction.
In an interview with The Guardian from December 2009, he admitted to having reduced his drug intake.
He claimed in 2014 to have been clean of marijuana for over a year, but by June of the following year, he was in a Swiss rehabilitation center.
