After going into cardiac arrest, the singer was taken to Walker Baptist Medical Center, as confirmed by the Walker County Coroner’s Office. They suspect he died of a heart attack at this time. He told The Hollywood Reporter in 2014 that his granddad was a major influence on his decision to pursue music. “When I got a little older, my grandfather gave me a guitar,” he added. According to Deadline, the singer passed away on Sunday in Jasper, Alabama, at the age of 31. Joey Vick, the county coroner, said that Harris went to the Walker Baptist Medical Center in a state of distress. After CPR was attempted, he passed very quickly.

For the second time, Harris tried out for American Idol in 2014. This time he made it to the final round of the show after competing against the other Top 13 finalists. Upon reaching the finals, Harris gave an interview in which he discussed his past setbacks and reminisced on his achievements.
The artist also discussed his second attempt at auditioning for American Idol and how he took advantage of the opportunity during the conversation. At the age of 23, CJ was given the go-ahead by the judges and placed in the “Top 6.”
Harris reportedly played the piano and cited Usher and Keith Sweat as musical influences. A track titled “In Love” was released by him in 2019. CJ’s plans after his untimely death are, however, still a mystery.
