There once was an R&B musician and producer named Andrea Martin. She has penned chart-topping singles for R&B greats, including Toni Braxton, Monica, Angie Stone, En Vogue, SWV, and Leona Lewis, during her career. She was a featured background singer on a number of their albums. The 49-year-old was born on April 14, 1972, and spent much of his childhood in Brooklyn.

In 1990, she earned a diploma from the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts.

Let Me Return the Favor, the lead single off of her 1998 album The Best of Me, peaked at number 82 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The tragic news of Martin’s passing was conveyed on her Instagram Story. The story was deleted after some time.

“Dear Family and Friends, it is with a heavy heart we inform you of the passing of our beautiful Andrea Martin also known as ‘Annie,’ ” the statement read. “Andrea will always be remembered for her passion and dedication to her family and friends. Her impact will continue to be felt and heard for a lifetime.”

 A tweet by R&B:

We appreciate your love, sympathy, and understanding in advance during this difficult time. “Because we are currently working to finalise plans, we ask that you restrict your calls.

“A living myth that will never be forgotten. When: April 14th until September 27th “that’s it; the thread is closed.

Ivan Matias, Martin’s longtime writing partner, also announced her death in his own Instagram account.

A portrait of Martin was accompanied by the words ” “To Heaven with Love Addressed to Andrea Martin. A buddy since childhood and a collaborator on many songs. There is no one like her.”

The official cause of Martin’s death is still unknown.

Beloved by fans and critics alike, “Before You Walk Out My Life” by Monica (born Monica Denise Arnold) topped the R&B and singles charts, as well as the Billboard Hot 100. This was the first time a song Andrea collaborated on was officially released.

Martin reportedly worked with fellow Lagaurdian alumnus Ivan Matias on SWV’s “You’re The One,” as reported by Daily Mail “Don’t Let Go (Love) by En Vogue. Both tracks did well on the Hot 100 as well. Matias had shown his sorrow online by creating a tribute Instagram photo and writing a moving description.

After putting in time and effort, the musician finally released her first album, “The Best of Me,” in 1998. On the album, the singles “Let Me Return the Favor” and “Share the Love” reached as high as positions #82 and #4 on Billboard’s Dance Charts.
