The Eminence in Shadow, also known as “Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!” is an isekai action anime based on a series of light novels by the same name by Daisuke Aizawa. The series follows Minoru Kagenou, a young man with a burning ambition to become a vigilante and battle evil without letting it disrupt his everyday life.
He puts in many hours of training to build up the necessary physical abilities for the job, but his efforts seem to have been in vain as he bleeds to death by the side of the road after getting hit by a vehicle.
Fortunately, he is reborn as Cid Kagenou in a parallel universe, where he discovers that magic is not only possible but widespread. With hard work and dedication, he achieves remarkable mastery over magic.
He founded an organization called Shadow Garden, whose primary mission is to destroy the terrible Cult of Diabolos, which Cid claims does not exist. But he has no idea, to everyone’s amusement, that the Cult of Diabolos is not only genuine but that everyone in Shadow Garden is working to destroy it.
Since its debut in the Fall 2022 anime season, fans have been captivated by Cid and his companions’ high-octane, oftentimes hilarious, exploits.
