We have entered the era of system resets. Rurouni Kenshin will finally join the competition in 2023.
We follow Kenshin Himura, a samurai on the lam who embarks on a quest for redemption across Japan. He was known as the most brutal killer, but now he promises to stop killing. Sakabato, a one-of-a-kind sword with a backward blade, symbolizes his tenacity.
The anime will undergo a complete remake of the original, like many other popular series from the 1990s. The stakes are higher for Liden Productions to provide a better version of Rurouni Kenshin after the success of the live-action film.
Is the success of Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Hunter x Hunter a template for the remake? Or does it turn out to be a bland remake? Get Rurouni Kenshin’s details right here (2023). I say, “Will we?”
Publication Timing Of Rurouni Kenshin
The announcement of the re-adaptation first came in at Jump Festa ’22, held on December 19, 2021. With the information about Liden Productions’ plans to remake the anime came a second teaser video.
At Aniplex Online Fest 2022, we finally got some new details on Rurouni Kenshin after waiting about nine months. First, the character designs were leaked, then the crew, then the cast, then the release date, and now the first PV!
Remakes of Rurouni Kenshin will be available to fans in 2023, so they won’t have to wait too long. The release date is unknown at this time. However, it is likely to occur in the summer of 2023.

The second PV was unveiled on December 17, 2022, at Jump Festa ’23. Sagara Sanosuke and Myoujin Yahiko, two key characters, were also introduced.
The visual animation in the preview clip is an improvement over the original from the ’90s. It’s nice that smooth action can be viewed without 3DCG technology. Let’s hope the rest of the series is produced with the same high standards by Liden Films.
A reassuring aspect is the team’s proven performance. The series will be directed by Hideyo Yamamoto (Strike the Blood), while the composition will be written by Hideyuki Kurata (Drifters, Goblin Slayer). Music is being composed by Yuu Takami, and character designs are being designed by Erumi Nishii (Knight of the Zodiac: Saint Seiya).
There are currently four available casts. The items in question are:
- Souma Saito as Himura Kenshin
- Rie Takahashi as Kamiya Kaoru
- Taku Yashiro as Sagara Sanosuke
- Koichi Makoto as Myoujin Yahiko
The Plot Of Rurouni Kenshin (2023)
It had been ten years since the end of the Bakumatsu period, during which civilians had revolted against the Tokugawa shogunate and unleashed a devastating war. Even though the revolt was successful and the Meiji period began, the desired peace had not yet arrived.
Weapons of any type are outlawed, but street homicide is nonetheless ordinary. While the new government lines its pockets with money, orphans and veterans are dispersed across the country.
Kenshin Himura, a warrior from the past, explores the world to ensure his sacrifices in combat are not in vain. Hitokori Battousai, or Sword-drawing Manslayer, was his former name due to the hundreds of foes he helped eliminate during battles. He promises he will never kill again now.
Kenshin encounters Kaoru Kamiya, the proprietor of a small dojo in danger of being closed down, in the eleventh year of Meiji. The famed Battousai murderer just so happened to train in Kaoru’s dojo, and that’s why.
