While Frozen 2 may have appeared to wrap up all of its storylines neatly, there are several different scenarios and rumors about where the plot of Frozen 3 will go. After Frozen 2, Anna understands that to bring peace back to Arendelle, she must demolish the dam.
Elsa is simultaneously released, and she rides the water spirit to Arendelle to stop the deluge and save the kingdom. She says that she and Anna are the link connecting the ordinary people and the magical folk after reconnecting with Anna and Olaf. This appeared to tie up the sisters’ tale, leaving Frozen’s destiny in limbo.
Is Frozen 3 Confirmed?
Bob Iger announced the existence of Frozen 3 during The Walt Disney Company’s First Quarter 2023 Financial Results Conference Call.
Director of Frozen 2 Jennifer Lee stated to Deadline that she “felt extremely done” but left the door open for a threequel, adding, “Time will tell if we have more story to tell, or if anyone even wants it:.”
“I know this sounds crazy, but I’m still hoping we did right by ‘Frozen 2′. I’m still in that overwhelming position of, our kids just went out to the world. Everything feels final, but also bittersweet. Time will tell if we have more story to tell, or if anyone even wants it. So, there you have it. [laughs] Right now, I feel very done.”
It will be evident that Disney wants it by 2023. However, the studio is also interested in other sequels.
Additionally, Zootopia 2 and Toy Story 5 are also in development, according to Bob Iger.
Disney has not yet provided any additional information or a scheduled release date for Frozen 3.
Frozen 3 Potential Release Date
Although Frozen three has been officially announced, the release date for the third installment is still unknown.
As he formally revealed the new movie, Iger stated, “We’ll have more to discuss these productions soon, but this is a great illustration of how we’re leaning into our unequaled brands and franchises” (via Deadline).
Since there were six years between Frozen and II, that is a good benchmark for when Frozen 3 can likely be anticipated. Depending on how far along the process is, fans may have to wait until 2025 to see Anna and Elsa again.
A release date for the next postmodern Disney film Wish has not yet been announced, but directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have been working. Although we are unsure if they will participate in the third Frozen movie, we would be shocked if they weren’t.

As of February 2023, despite the movie’s confirmation, no cast announcements have been made.
The Plot Of Frozen 3: How Does The Conclusion Of Frozen 2 Foreshadow A Third Film?
To learn why a mysterious voice has been calling to Elsa and to stop the enchanted spirits from destroying Arendelle, Anna, and Elsa travel to the magical forest outside of the kingdom of Arendelle in the sequel.
It turns out that in the past, there was a conflict between the Arendelle soldiers and the Northuldra inhabitants of the forest, which resulted in the woodland’s isolation from the outside world.
To cut a long story short, they learn that their parents were shipwrecked en route to Ahtohallan to look for Elsa’s power source. Anna and Elsa locate their ship in the magical forest and know that their mother is Northuldran.
In addition, their grandpa started the fight by building a dam in the forest to weaken the Northuldran people. Anna realizes she must destroy the dam to release the forest to make one for past wrongs.

Elsa was stuck in Ahtohallan, searching for the voice, which was revealed to be a memory of her mother. She accomplishes this barely in time. Elsa becomes the “fifth spirit,” the link connecting the natural world and the world of magic. However, as we all know, a bridge has two sides, and the other is Anna.
Elsa lives in the forest as Anna ascends to the throne of Arendelle, guaranteeing the peaceful coexistence of the two kingdoms.
The storylines started in Frozen feel like a logical conclusion, fulfilling the producer’s promise that the two films would convey “one complete story.” Anna has discovered her place in the world, and Elsa has finally come to terms with her magical side.
