After delivering the excellent Shonen anime Fairy Tail, creator Hiro Mashima followed it up with another hit, Edens Zero. The first season of Edens Zero was well enough for the anime to announce a second.
The manga by Hiro Mashima from which the anime was adapted shares the same title. The manga debuted in June 2018 in Weekly Shonen Magazine, and Kodansha Comics is responsible for its print and digital publication in the English language.
After finishing Rave Master and Fairy Tail, Mashima san has moved on to his third project, Edens Zero. The science fiction and space setting of Edens Zero is reminiscent of his earlier works.
According to Netflix, over 74,000 people rated the first season a 7.31 out of 10. Speculation about Season 2 was widespread since there is still so much story and mystery to be told.
When Season 2 of Edens Zero Will Premiere?
On February 8, the official Edens Zero Twitter account announced the good news with a teaser image, suggesting that Shiki and his Crew of Edens are about to go on a new adventure.
An additional statement and visual clue were released on August 17th, revealing the broadcast premiere target year of 2023.
This means that Edens Zero will be available to the public sometime in 2023.
The passing of series animation director Yuji Suzuki caused some concern about the show’s future last year. Suzuki had previously worked on the key animation and storyboard crew for a few episodes of the Fairy Tail anime series, but Edens Zero is his first and only anime series to direct.
The series’ continuation had been delayed due to the director’s untimely death, but development for a new season had begun, so fans need not worry. Even the upcoming season’s composer, Yoshihisa Hirano, tweeted that they had started recording the soundtrack.
The cast and production team that will bring the upcoming season to life have not been revealed. Fans are hoping that J.C.Staff can live up to the high standards set by the first season’s animation. See below the story of Eden Zero.
