Here’s what we know about the upcoming third season of “Demon Slayer,” which will continue the story of Tanjiro’s quest to save his sister, Nezuko.
In 2019, the world was taken by storm by the Shounen anime Demon Slayer. In the wake of Season 1‘s 26 episodes, the show received widespread acclaim for its stunning visuals and rapid-fire storytelling.
Following their initial success, Ufotable Animation Studio released a high-budget movie and a second anime season. They’ve already started filming for Season 3.
Kimetsu no Yaiba: Katanakaji no Sato-hen (Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc) is the official title for the third season. If you’re curious about the new season, here’s all we know about it so far.
When Will Season 3 Of “Demon Slayer” Be Available?
Season 3 of Demon Slayer will debut on Crunchyroll in April of 2023. We cannot provide a specific release date but will do so as we receive more information.
As part of a unique theatrical screening event, the first episode of Season 3 of Kimetsu no Yaiba will show a week early. This particular episode will kick off the Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc. In case you’re interested, the relevant dates are listed below:
- Japan: February 3
- Tokyo: February 4 and 5
- Los Angeles: February 18
- United States and Canada: March 3
- Paris: February 25
- Berlin: February 26
- Mexico City: March 4
- Seoul: March 11
Episodes 10 and 11 of the Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc, as well as the first episode of the Swordsmith Village Arc, will be shown at the screenings.
Ufotable’s large movie production, Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train, was a significant factor in the delay of the second season of Demon Slayer. There doesn’t seem to be a movie in the gap between seasons this time.

The above footage of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba was shared on Twitter. Episodes 10 and 11 from the Entertainment District arc, as well as an expanded version of Episode 1 from the Swordsmith Village arc, were compiled into a feature-length theatrical release titled “To the Swordsmith Village.”

After the deaths of Upper Moon Six, Daki, and Gyutaro, the clip introduces the remaining members of Kibutsuji Muzan’s Twelve Kizuri. Akaza, from Upper Moon 3, is punched by Doma, from Upper Rank 2, after the latter makes a contemptuous remark.
Upper Rank Four: Hantengub and Upper Rank Five: Gyokko, the story arc’s primary adversaries, are also presented to the audience. Besides the Higher Rank One: Kokushibo, the footage also features Nakime, a monster who resides in Muzan’s Dimensional Infinity Fortress.
Fans worldwide have been tweeting their excitement about the upcoming season, praising the animation quality for its beautiful visuals and immersive atmosphere. Viewers remarked on how well the camerawork immersed them in the many areas of the Infinity Castle.
In another scene from the upcoming season that has been released early, we see Kibutsuji Muzan in a new outfit, experimenting with demon blood and referencing Gyutaro.
Demon Slayer’s animation has always been top-notch, but Studio Ufotable upped their game with the third season. It will be interesting to witness powerful demons like Gyokko and Hantengu in action in the Swordsman Village arc, especially given the high quality of the animation and the use of CGI.
They will be opposed by Kamado Tanjiro, Agatsuma Zenitsu, and Nezuko, as well as Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji and Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito.
