Officers from Baltimore’s Central District arrived at the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and Laurens Street at around 6:39 p.m. on Saturday in response to a Shot Spotter alert.
Police said that when they arrived, they found two adult males, one adult female, and a 2-year-old boy, all of whom had been shot.

One of the individuals was pronounced dead after being taken to a local hospital by emergency crews. Both of the male patients and the female patient are in serious condition. The toddler’s condition has been described as stable.
After the incident, a 6-year-old boy was hurt in a car collision.
Black males in Baltimore were the focus of Mayor Brandon Scott’s remarks at a press conference.
People “trying to be, appear like [they’re] tough but [are] really weak because only weak people kill somebody when you know children are near there,” he claimed. I don’t care if [they are] your homeboy, your guy, or your cousin if you are harboring that person. You, too, must be a wimp. And we need to improve ourselves by rising to the occasion.
Commissioner of Police Michael Harrison of Baltimore has stated that he is aware of multiple eyewitnesses to the shooting. He urged them to cooperate with authorities in order to solve the crime. He then clarified that people can do so in complete secrecy.
People must have heard something, we know that much. He then stated, “We know individuals witnessed something.”
He said, “This is again a mass casualty incident,” emphasizing that children are among the injured and battling for their lives.
“It’s all because of a disagreement that was handled poorly,” he stated.
Murder detectives were called in and took charge of the case.
